Our Workshops
Our trainings offer a variety of valuable experiential opportunities to better understand the science of trauma and how to heal through somatic-based therapies like the TRY Method. Offered both virtually and in-person, our trainings are open to all caregivers, humanitarians, first responders, counselors or for one's own self development. The trainings will uniquely prepare you to work with populations in crisis who have experienced trauma.
No yoga experience is required for any of the trainings.

Integrative Psychological First Aid
The objective of this workshop is to equip participants with a holistic understanding of stress and trauma, equipping them with practical, science-based tools rooted in TRY’s approach for immediate use in providing psychological first aid. The emphasis on the mind-body connection and resilience frameworks ensures a comprehensive and effective training experience.
This workshop includes:

Overview of the importance of psychological first aid (PFA) and its alignment with TRY’s approach

Stress Management
The Stress Management Workshop aims to equip people with practical tools and strategies to effectively manage stress, enhance resilience, and promote well-being amidst daily life stressors and challenging situations. This workshop is customizable for different groups including humanitarians, mental health workers, and beneficiaries or clients (people receiving said services).
This workshop includes:

Participants will learn and practice guiding other participants in two trauma-informed breathing techniques and one meditation

Emotional First Aid
Objective: To equip participants with practical tools and knowledge rooted in science and trauma-informed care to effectively provide emotional first aid in times of crisis.

Intergenerational Trauma & Resilience
This workshop aims to provide participants with a deeper understanding of intergenerational trauma, offering both insights into its effects and practical tools for breaking cycles and fostering resilience.

Self-Care for Healers, Helpers & Humanitarians

We're here to tell you that it's not only possible, but it's vital to your mental health and your ability to take meaningful action.
In this webinar, join our staff for a discussion on vicarious trauma, self-care strategies as we’re navigating crisis mode, and how to create a self-care action plan.

Resilience-Building for Children
Our Mindful Movements TRY workshop is designed for individuals and teams working directly with children. You'll leave with an understanding of childhood trauma, the mental and physical effects on a child's body, and how this may look in real life circumstances. You'll leave with a deeper sense of empathy, as well as strategies and tools to implement right away to empower the children you work with.

Self-Regulation for Resilience (SRR)
This workshop is extracted from the TRY Method and offered to first responders and others on the front lines of trauma. Participants will learn about and practice the SRR sequence, visualization, and mindfulness techniques that are adaptable, accessible and integratable, even in the most hectic of professions. This method is proven to help calm the central nervous system and encourage focus as it fosters response over reaction.
Graduates will receive a certificate to practice and share the SRR tools.

Experiential training of a 2-minute SRR reset and 15-minute chair sequence

The knowledge around the basis of this method in psychology, neuroscience and somatic movement and how it may be utilized during their day for self-care or the support of others

Breakout sessions to practice their skills at delivering each module
Trauma Recovery Yoga Teacher Training (ToT)
The full 20-hour TRY training offers tools and techniques both on and off the mat to help relieve the body and mind of the effects of trauma. We will explore trauma-informed practices in yoga, meditation, breathing, and more. Upon completing this workshop, graduates will be certified to teach a 30-minute TRY chair sequence and will have the opportunity to join a mentorship program and become certified to teach the full 45-minute mat class.

Trauma-Informed Seated Yoga Postures
Participants experience and practice seated yoga postures that are based in science, to be used for themselves and those they serve. 30 Minutes
Compassion Fatigue, Burnout & Self-Care
Participants discuss vicarious trauma and reflect on their own experience working with trauma. We learn new tools to diversify self-care routines and incorporate healthy habits as the most effective means of prevention. Great for anyone working with trauma on a regular basis. 30 Minutes
The Vagus Nerve & Vagal Toning
Participants learn about how the mind-body connection works and leave with new tools and skills to strengthen your vagus nerve.

Breathing Techniques for Trauma
Breath is the remote control of the nervous system. Participants will learn why it's so important in our recovery, and leave with 3 new breathing techniques to use for themselves and others. 30 Minutes
Discussion on the TRY Research Results
We recently completed our research study in Iraq with survivors of genocide and local humanitarians. They practiced TRY once a week for 8 weeks, and the impact on their mental and physical trauma symptoms, resilience levels and heart-rate variability are incredible. In this module, we'll discuss how this is so, and the science behind mind-body methods. 30 Minutes

Learn how toxic stress can disrupt the development the brains and bodies of children, and learn tools to single-handedly address this public health crisis. 30 Minutes
Meditation for Trauma & Neuroplasticity
